Hi ! Paris, the interdisciplinary center for AI & Society, is currently looking for applicants to a 2-years post-doctoral position.

Starting in the Fall of 2023, the candidate could join the CSS initiative at CREST. Our work relies on all sorts of AI, but at the moment we have a strong focus on Natural Language Processing. With it, we investigate both social and classic media. We often work on text data, as we have access to the entire archive of most of the French daily newspapers, but we are also interested in projects involving speech from the audiovisual media, via a partnership with l’INA (the French national repository for audiovisual media).

The candidate should have a Ph.D. already, or be on track to complete it before the end of August 2023. The candidate will have a Ph.D. using NLP (Ph.D. in computational linguistics or a related area) and s/he should have a strong interest in working with social scientists. Candidates with a social science background can also apply so long as they demonstrate advanced skills in NLP.

Knowledge of French is appreciated, but not necessary.
